ABOUT US |
|
|
| The Laveycraft legacy is long and proud…
dating back to 1952 when flatbottom inboard ski boats and
day cruisers dominated the Southern California performance
boating scene. Since then, Laveycraft has evolved into a full
custom boat manufacturer with models ranging from the quick
and nimble 21’XCS to the newly introduced 32’
NuEra Offshore, exhibiting the finest craftsmanship and quality
in the entire industry.
In 1991, brothers Jeff and Chris Camire purchased the Laveycraft
name and business. Between them, they possess over 40 years
experience in every aspect of the custom boat building business.
Jeff and Chris personally design and work on every boat.
Chris oversees the rigging and has his hand in every motor
installation.
As a tribute to their past success and their commitment
to future goals, Laveycraft is adding a new 20,000 square
foot facility specifically designed for boat manufacturing,
customer service and marketing to ensure the continuing
tradition of quality and service. |

THE PEOPLE |
|
|
Jeff Camire
:
Co-owner
|
Jeff has a wealth of experience in the
boating industry. He has been in the marine industry
since 1978. He worked several years gelcoating for major
boat manufacturers. He then went to work for Laveycraft
full time, learning all aspects of boat building, design,
tooling, sales and lamination schedules. In 1991, he
and his brother Chris purchased Laveycraft, wherein
he has continued expanding the line and creating all
new boat tooling from 21’ – 32’. Jeff
loves boating with his family, Shauna, Jeffrey and Danae
and enjoys fun in the desert driving high performance
sandrails. |
Chris Camire :
Co-owner
|
Chris has been in the marine industry since 1982.
Rumor has it he built his first boat in his garage.
He started working for Laveycraft and, with his aptitude
for mechanics, worked his way into rigging and installations.
From Laveycraft, he worked for other custom boat manufactures
as a rigger. Today, as a Co-owner of Laveycraft, he
continues to have a hand in rigging every boat manufactured.
His innovation and attention to detail have been commended
many times, not just by customers and magazine evaluators,
but by his peers in the boating industry. Chris is an
avid scuba diver, and when not on the water, he can
be found with his brother in the desert driving sandrails
and ATV’s. |
Shauna Camire :
Administration
|
When you call Laveycraft, Shauna is the one who answers
with, “It’s a great day for boating”.
The wife of Jeff, she has been running the front office
since 1991, handling the finance chores and just about
anything else that needs attention. Providing the customer
service you deserve, she will obtain the boat financing
and insurance to meet your needs. |

PRODUCTION |
|
|
| At Laveycraft, we are committed to designing
and manufacturing the strongest, fastest and safest family
performance boats on the market. It does not end there. After
you take delivery, you can be assured of continuing service
because, with us, you are not just a boat owner but part of
the Laveycraft family. Our customers are our best sales force.
We have a facility designed and constructed exclusively
for boat manufacturing where quality is designed and built
into all of our production. For example, all of our open
boat models are “true” open bows, designed from
the beginning with dedicated molds. In addition, every boat,
regardless of size is foam filled between the floor and
hull to give you that extra “bridge” for strength
and durability.
Each boat is a hand laid fiberglass construction by craftsmen
who are some of the best in the industry. To take another
step above the competition, we use the latest and finest
in resin and fiberglass technology.
After color sanding and buffing, the rigging department,
headed by co-owner Chris Camire, painstakingly installs
the custom wire loom, gauges, hardware, powdercoated trim
pieces and engine package. All hardware is thru-bolted to
withstand the test of time.
Finally, the upholstery is installed and the finished boat
is inspected and loaded on a custom trailer painted to match. |
